• Clacton Pier offering the traditional seaside fun with amusements, ice creams and rides galore including The Wheel and free fireworks every Bank Holiday • Clacton Pavilion, a seafront fun park offering a water park, adventure golf, ten-pin bowling and a 5D cinema. • The beautiful seafront gardens • Live shows, music and comedy at the Westcliff Theatre with an excellent programme during the summer • St Osyth Historic priory • Jaywick Martello defensive tower now used for exhibitions • Local nature reserve “Picker’s Ditch” good for strolling through grasslands and bird-watching • Clacton Factory Outlet Shopping Village • Golf courses • Water sports • Sea and Fresh-water fishing • Go further afield to Colchester, the oldest recorded town, to shop or see the roman wall and castle with its exhibitions and beautiful grounds

Annual events in and around Clacton include: Classic Car Show in Clacton in June, Tendring Show, Clacton Carnival, CAMRA’s Clacton Real Ale and Cider Festival and an Air Display usually starring the Red Arrows in August. At Christmas see the Panto at Westcliff Theatre and meet Santa at Colchester Zoo.
